I feel proud and privileged to be welcomed into the SYT family, and to be appointed on the Board of Directors at Somerset Youth Theatre.

Born and bred in Somerset I feel a close connection to the people and creative landscape of the area that I live. I have a real passion of theatre and the arts within Somerset having performed and facilitated theatre in this area for over 40 years.

Somerset Youth Theatre is a grass-roots creative delivery that only wants to see the next generation of young people thrive in whatever they do. This is very close to my heart as a small child who first stepped out onto a stage and felt the thrill and excitement that being part of a like minded group of people and a live audience gives you.

I feel it is so important to give all young people the opportunity to build confidence and life skills that they will take into every part of their life's journey and to be able to do this in a safe and supportive environment. I know that SYT is the place to do this, and love being a small part of making this happen right here in Somerset.

Trained in Dance and Musical Theatre, I then went on to teach all over the south west, including in local college's, youth theatres and schools. Then spending almost 15 years as Theatre manager at The Blakehay Theatre in Weston-super-Mare, went back to facilitating, stage managing and producing performances in the South-West before joining SYT in February 2026.

I hope that i can make a real difference in the lives of young people and help shape the creative landscape of Somerset for future generations.
