We meet on Thursdays during term time in Bridgwater, at Bridgwater Arts Centre, 11 - 13 Castle Street, Bridgwater TA6 3DD
SYT@BAC is a young person takeover of Bridgwater Arts Centre — a space for bold ideas, original stories, and performance that says something real. Working alongside professional artists, young makers create new theatre from the ground up: writing, experimenting, collaborating, challenging, and taking creative risks.
Not stage school.
Not jazz hands.
Not theatre made for young people.
This is theatre made by them.
When signing up, we ask that our members commit to attend every session throughout the term.
Somerset Youth Theatre:
SYT@BAC (10-16 year olds) meet Thursdays 4.30 - 5.45pm
We provide safer spaces for young people to create, explore and find their voice through Theatre and Creativity. Our sessions are delivered by professional, trained and experienced Artists and facilitators who are experts in co-creation. All hold Enhanced DBS, Access & Inclusion and neuroaffirming training.
We are passionate about access for ALL young people and offer a ‘Pay What You Choose’ payment system. Places are fully funded for those in receipt of FSM/PP.
We understand that not everyone is in the same financial position, so please pay what you feel you can. Get in touch with Ruth on 07918 425923, or email info@somersetyt.com if you’d like to chat. We would never turn any young person away due to cost or access and work with families to make sure ALL young people can get involved.
We are incredibly grateful to our funders & partners who support SYT, towards a world where ALL young people’s voices matter.
